Earlier this summer, I had the pleasure of photographing the Smith family at the American Fork Amphitheater. We had originally planned on shooting at Art Dye Park in American Fork, but the morning of the shoot, we pulled up and there was a huge city race going on! Not a patch of grass available anywhere. Thank goodness the Smith family is so easy-going and flexible because we just headed up the street to the amphitheater and had a wonderful extended family session there.

ELIJIO & ADELITA | WEDDING AT SALT LAKE CATHEDRAL OF THE MADELEINE | BRIDALS AT MEMORY GROVE9/20/2017 Adelita and Elijio helped me fulfill one of my dreams this last month – photographing a wedding at Salt Lake City’s absolutely stunning Cathedral of the Madeleine. The cathedral is a Roman Catholic church that was completed in 1909 and currently serves as the mother church,of the Diocese of Salt Lake City. It has the most beautiful Gothic revival architecture, and it was the perfect place for Adelita and Elijio to be married.
I had THE BEST time taking Laura and Nathaniel’s engagement photos. You know when people talk about dream clients? Well, that was me during this session. They trusted me completely, letting me set the time and location, and they were up for any crazy thing I asked them to do. Sometimes what we tried worked, sometimes it didn’t, but we laughed through it all. We met at the base of Payson Canyon and headed up together in my car, pulling over when we found a beautiful vista…and let me tell you, we found a few. It was storming that evening, so light was hard to find and there were more than a few raindrops, but Nathaniel and Laura were up for it all and we enjoyed our little adventure. We’re waiting for Laura’s dress to be done, and I can’t wait until we get to do their bridals before their October 6th wedding!
I had never done twin baby photos before, so when Heather asked me to photograph Clark and Gabe, I was a little worried, but I didn’t need to be, because we had an amazing session together! These two little champs were born 8 weeks early, and these photos were when they were 4 months (what should have been 2 months). They are the happiest, easy-going babies, and they have a (sometimes overly) loving older brother. To top it off, Heather is a single mom, doing it all on her own and kicking butt at it. I loved having them all in front of my camera for a few hours while we captured the love they all have for each other.
Laurissa and Nik were married for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple in American Fork on one of the coldest days I can remember. Even though it was absolutely freezing, though, they were champions. We ran through the group photos and then this amazing couple braved the below-freezing temperatures to get some bridal photos done. I especially loved Laurissa’s elegant ivory overcoat and powder blue heels!
LAURISSA & NIK | LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON ALBION BASIN ENGAGEMENTS | UTAH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER9/14/2017 I was going back through old sessions and couldn’t believe I hadn’t blogged this gorgeous engagement session with Laurissa and Nik from TWO summers ago! Laurissa wanted mountains, and green, and flowers, and Albion Basin, up Little Cottonwood Canyon, fit the bill perfectly! It was brimming with flowers and we caught it just right at golden hour as the sun was getting close to setting. It was so easy to photograph Laurissa and Nik because they were so comfortable with one another. I love photographing LOVE, and they made my job easy! They dipped and danced, cuddled and snuggled to their (and my) hearts’ content. The session flew by and we came away with some great photos that they later displayed at their reception (blog post to come!)
