When Ethan’s mom contacted me about taking senior portraits of her son, she mentioned that he could be a little stiff in front of the camera. I laughed it off and told her that was pretty typical and not to worry. And, boy, was I right – we didn’t need to worry, because during my session with Ethan, which we held at Utah Valley University in Orem, he posed like a pro and made my job a breeze. We had so much fun taking some casual photos in the central courtyard of the university and then Ethan changed into more professional attire for the second half of the session.

Dani and Tyler were married on May 6, 2017 at the Draper Utah LDS Temple, with a reception that evening in Pleasant Grove. Dani's the younger sister of one of my good friends, and so I was honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding day. It was a beautiful, bright, warm afternoon when they exited as husband and wife, and we had a great time capturing memories for them! It was the first time I had met Tyler, but I could see right away what a great fit they were - metaphorically speaking. They are, after all, nearly a foot apart in height haha. Of dating Tyler, Dani said, "I loved how bold he was and found out quickly that he was absolutely hilarious! He also is the most gentleman-like person I have ever met!" Congrats on your wedding, guys!
Stephanie and Nick were married this last Saturday, June 10, 2017. I don't know if I've ever seen a groom as giddy as Nick was about marrying his true love. They were such a fun, laid-back couple, and we had a blast exploring the temple grounds and taking bridals after the big group shots. Before the wedding day, Stephanie told me about how they met - "We met through Nick's cousin (who I lived with for a few weeks). We'd all visit and got along super well. Nick chased me one day out the back door ... and that's when I kinda new there was more interest. We later into our friendship discovered that we shared many big life experiences. Missions, previous marriages, and childhoods playing in the woods. So much just fit together everything's been so natural." Nick proposed to her on top of Angel's Landing at Zion's National Park!
I first heard from Kyle and Kenedy a week before their wedding! They had decided they wanted photos of the big day, and I was so happy to help them out. We planned to quickly do photos of the exit and the big group of friends and family who had come out to support them, and then take some time for bridals, so they would have photos of the day to treasure forever. It was a bit windy and chilly at the temple (it seems like it always is at the Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple), but everyone’s smiles were warm and happy. Kyle and Kenedy were obviously and deliriously in love, and I was so glad they scheduled that extra time with me so we could capture it adequately.
Amber and Shawn were married in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple last April, and I’m finally getting around to blogging it. It was a windy day (Is it ever NOT windy at that temple?), but sunny and warm out. Amber and Shawn were the sweetest, most laid back couple, and it was evident from all their guests that they are adored because of it. We did family and group photos, and then I got to spend an hour exploring the temple grounds with them and taking some beautiful couple and detail shots.
