RALPH & JOYCE ERICKSON | 60th ANNIVERSARY DIAMOND JUBILEE | UTAH FAMILY & EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER4/29/2017 I recently had the pleasure of photographing a 60th wedding anniversary celebration for Ralph and Joyce Erickson, who are grandparents of a good friend of mine. The event was a classy affair, held for close friends and family in Bountiful’s Eldredge Manor.

When Becky contacted me about taking her family photos this spring, I jumped at the chance! Becky and I grew up together, running down ditch banks, catching fish, and climbing trees in our hometown of Brawley, California. The last time I saw her was at her wedding reception nearly 3 YEARS ago, and she recently added a daughter to her cute little family of 3, so I had to catch up with her, and I’m so glad I did! We met up at the apple orchard near Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah, and made some magic happen!  Jim and Dena are my neighbors. Well, they live a few streets over but out here, in the small community we’re a part of, we’re pretty much all neighbors. Jim and Dena raised 10 children together, and if you get to know their family at all, you learn that they were raised on the principles of hard work, honesty, and kindness. It’s apparent in everything they do and the way they are raising their families now. It was quite a feat getting everyone together in one place to take this photo, and they only day we could make it work was by scheduling it for the day before Christmas, so that is exactly what we did. They had the great idea of pulling the Steiger tractor around near the spot where we were taking photos for a few pictures, and I’m so glad we did! The day was overcast and threatening rain, but luckily it held off and made for some awesome, epic skies! I loved this session so much I entered it in a photo contest with Shoot and Share, and it ended up as a finalist out of more than 22,000 entries!  Back in November, Patrice contacted me about photographing her with her children. We corresponded over the phone and she was so easy going and sweet, I was sure the photo session would be great. We chose to meet in the Loch Lomond Neighborhood in Saratoga Springs, and as soon as I met her and her seven children (and their spouses and kids), I knew I was right. Everyone was so easy to work with, happy, and kind. Especially Rhett, who is the youngest - at the tail end of 6 sisters. He had the best attitude and I don't know if I've ever met a more confident 13-year-old. I had the best time capturing them together and creating memories that will last them a long time. It also didn’t hurt that they did a great job coordinating their outfits in pinks, teals, and grays! (P.S.
