RALPH & JOYCE ERICKSON | 60th ANNIVERSARY DIAMOND JUBILEE | UTAH FAMILY & EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a 60th wedding anniversary celebration for Ralph and Joyce Erickson, who are grandparents of a good friend of mine. The event was a classy affair, held for close friends and family in Bountiful’s Eldredge Manor. 

Ralph and Joyce were married on April 20, 1957. Their son Paul surprised them on this anniversary by planning a luncheon where loved ones could stop by to visit and pay tribute to their exemplary marriage and relationship. The flow of guests was constant, and it was so neat to hear about all the lives Ralph and Joyce had influenced for good.

At one point, there was a break to celebrate Ralph’s 90th birthday with a special fishing-themed cake. Then, at the end of the event, family members presented Ralph and Joyce with an album of tributes to them, carefully gathered and assembled from family and friends in advance of the day. Although I only spent a few hours with the family, it was apparent that Ralph and Joyce have lived their lives in the service of others. It was a wonderful reminder that love and service go hand in hand.
