Earlier this summer, I had the pleasure of photographing the Smith family at the American Fork Amphitheater. We had originally planned on shooting at Art Dye Park in American Fork, but the morning of the shoot, we pulled up and there was a huge city race going on! Not a patch of grass available anywhere. Thank goodness the Smith family is so easy-going and flexible because we just headed up the street to the amphitheater and had a wonderful extended family session there. Robyn was so organized and had some great stools and benches to help arrange all the beautiful families. It was a challenge getting all the little ones and babies to look and smile (or at least not cry), but I made a fool of myself and we got some great shots. My favorite part of extended family shoots is getting to do one-on-ones with the kids. When it’s just me and them, they can focus and we can talk and get on better terms with each other. These kids were so sweet and cute, and I loved seeing their different, individual personalities. After our session, Robyn decided she wanted a few heads swapped and a large print to display in her home, so I did a little Photoshop magic and we ended up with a beautiful finished product that she can now have in her home.
