In June, I was able to second shoot Greg and Alyssa’s wedding with good friend and fellow photographer Glenn Pearson of Pearson Photography. The couple tied the knot in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, with a party of a reception held later that evening at the American Fork Amphitheater! It is a wedding I won’t soon forget. The amphitheater was lit by glowing overhead globe lights; a live band filled the evening air with dance-worthy music; and the park was filled with treats for guests - hand-scooped ice cream cookie sandwiches, a snow cone station by local favorite Hokulia, a taco truck, delicious sandwiches by local restaurant Marley’s Gourmet Sliders…The cherry on top was when the bride and groom took a break in the middle of the reception to play a little baseball with the bridal party! Greg was one of Alyssa’s friend’s older brothers, but she never really got to know him until a year ago, when they ended up playing on a softball team together with some family. The romance blossomed from there. It was fun seeing all the baseball tie-ins in their reception décor! The night was filled with good food and music, and guests really partied it up. Alyssa is a special ed teacher, and several of her students and their families came to the reception. It was easy to see what an amazing teacher she must be from the way they lit up being around her. Greg and Alyssa ended the evening with dancing and a good bouquet and garter toss. My favorite was when Alyssa’s brother cut in for a special, high-energy swing dance with the bride! I had so much fun capturing their special day, and I wish them the best in their new adventure!
