Formal Family Photos at the Utah State Capitol Building

I had the pleasure of photographing the Boyack family at the end of November at the Utah State Capitol. They chose the capitol for a variety of reasons. Son Connor Boyack - whose headshots I took a while back - founded non-profit Libertas Institute in 2011 and serves as its president. Mom Merrilee Boyack is executive director of Family Watch International, which works to protect, support, and promote families through education, humanitarian aid, and much more. So it made sense to photograph this politically-involved family at our state's capitol - and to top it off, it's a location with great outdoor light! 

We started with a little headshot session for Merrilee, and then finished our time together photographing the entire extended family - Merrilee and her husband are the parents of FOUR boys! The grandkids were so cute and it was nice to photograph an extended family without babies for a change. (Don't get me wrong, I love babies! But they can be a challenge to photograph, especially when there are several of them in one group.) We also made sure to get photos both inside the capitol as well as around the grounds.
