extended family photos | WHAT TO EXPECT

The summer is one of my busiest times for booking extended family photoshoots. Along with major holidays and school breaks, it's the time when families finally are able to all get together...and it's the time when they feel it's important to get a photo of everyone together, along with each family. When you hire Flying Gull Photography to photography your extended family, you get SO much in just an hour. 

During your extended family session I will capture a wide variety of groupings, often in multiple poses:

• Everyone
• Grandparents with Grandchildren
• All Grandchildren
  
• Grandparents with their children
• Grandparents with their children and spouses
  
• Children and spouses
  
• Each Family
• Grandparents alone
  

If time allows I will also often capture candids of everyone together or other shots, like individuals of each grandchild. Of course, when I'm photographing a group of 30 or more, we don't always have time for those extras. 

While extended family sessions are a bit different than a typical single family portrait session - more groupings, different arrangements, etc. - I do everything I can to make it go as efficiently as possible. We usually start with the biggest groups first, then whittle it down from there, working quickly and making it as fun as possible for everyone!
