There’s something magical about family photos in the mountains, and this session in American Fork Canyon was no exception. Surrounded by tall aspens, sweeping mountain views, and soft golden light, this location created the perfect backdrop for capturing authentic moments and connections. This sweet family wanted updated photos that felt natural and timeless, with a mix of both candid interactions and classic portraits. As we walked through the meadow, the kids laughed and held hands, their parents soaking up the joy of simply being together. There’s something magical about family photos in the mountains—especially at Jordan Pines in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The tall evergreens, golden aspens, and wide-open meadows make the perfect backdrop for timeless portraits. When I met this sweet family for their session, the light was streaming through the trees, wrapping them in a soft golden glow. It was the kind of evening that reminds you why Utah is one of the most beautiful places in the world for family photography. This recent extended family photo session in Salt Lake County was such a beautiful reminder of how special it is to bring grandparents, children, and even the newest grandbaby together in one frame.

We met at the back of Big Cottonwood Canyon in Utah to capture this large group of amazing people, ranging in age from 3 up into the 60s.
